Can I be honest with you?

When I first became a mom, I felt straight-up lied to.

This was not the magical, transformative, all-around-rainbows-and-unicorns experience I’d been told it would be. Instead, I was angry and sad and lonely. And I was guilt-ridden over all of it.

Since no one I knew seemed to be struggling like I was, I assumed there was something wrong with me. I mean, what kind of mother felt this way?

Maybe you can relate.

Since I was busy caring for a newborn, I didn’t have time to go searching for answers. And I wasn’t even sure what answers I needed, anyway.

I had so many tabs open in my brain — baby, marriage, household, work, friends, other responsibilities — that I didn’t know what to do first. And my own needs didn't even register on that list.

Over time, I found out I was not alone in my misery. In fact, most moms were having these same tough emotions, but nobody was talking about them.

That’s when I decided every mom deserves to be honest about how they feel, even the ugly stuff, and be met with total support. Judgment-free.

So, I added to my training as a licensed clinical psychologist and became certified in perinatal mental health. I took everything I’d learned — from my own experiences to evidence-based-research — and created my online course and community, Keeping Mommy in Mind.

It’s helped hundreds of moms so far. I’m sure it can help you, too.
